英国:特殊蛋白质决定梨型还是苹果型身材

英国科学家最近表示,人体内一种特殊的蛋白质决定了一个人是拥有梨型身材还是苹果型身材。
英国爱丁堡大学的研究人员发现,一种名为“11BetaHSD1”的蛋白质将决定人体脂肪的堆积部位和堆积方式。当人体内“11BetaHSD1”蛋白质含量越高时,不健康脂肪就更多堆积在腹部。这也就是为什么苹果型身材的人更容易患心脏病。相反,体内“11BetaHSD1”蛋白质含量越低,健康脂肪则更容易堆积在臀部,即“梨形身材”。
研究人员表示,腹部脂肪往往比臀部脂肪更危险。因为前者由于代谢旺盛,会释放出更多能诱发心脏疾病的酸性物质,并使血压和血糖升高。
研究人员是在老鼠身上实验后得出上述结论的。他们为实验鼠喂食了四周的高脂肪食物,并观察“11BetaHSD1”蛋白质对老鼠的影响。结果发现,同样食用高脂肪食物,体内含有“11BetaHSD1”蛋白质的老鼠比体内不含该蛋白质的老鼠更容易产生不健康的脂肪组织。
科学家们认为,上述发现将有助于人们加深对蛋白质的认识,同时可促进开发治疗肥胖的药物。
